Hot Shot R and More Heroines

I'm blogging about Nano at Wet Noodle Posse today.

This is possibly the best rejection ever. I got it yesterday, and yet, who can be down?

"The hook and the setting are both wonderful - I love the idea of setting a
fresh contemporary romance in a physically hot and dangerous environment.
And you can really feel the sparks fly between Peyton and Gabe every step of
the way.

Even though I think this is a good read, I felt there was something missing.
I would say there needs to be a richer complexity to how the romance and
mystery unfold simultaneously. As such I am going to pass on this."

Huh? Huh?

Still, I need a nice picture to get over it ;)

I was reading EW last night, and then my son was watching Conan, so I have some more possibilities for my new heroine. Mind you, my current heroine is in desperate need of being rescued and my villain hero is leaning more toward the villain.

First, Rachel Weisz. LOVE her! These pictures are very girl-next-door.

Then Michelle Monaghan from MI3:

Next, Paget Brewster, who is new on Criminal Minds, I think.

Kate Beckinsale is gorgeous, but probably too glamorous.

I really like Rachel Weisz. She's beautiful but in a natural everyday kind of way. I ended up using a pix of her for my heroine. The pix looks a smidge different than she usually does. Must be the angle, but it fit what I was looking for.

You're right. That's as good as the r's get. But HUH?!?
I don't get it.
Good luck picking the heroine.

Mary,

That's an EXCELLENT rejection. It shows she really liked your writing, but the project just wasn't for her. But it WILL BE for somebody else.

I agree with Kelly. I really like Rachel Weisz. I want to see her and Hugh Jackman in The Fountain.

This is the close-but-no-cigar R, I guess. Thanks, guys. I showed the ds the pics of the potential heroines. He liked the MI3 chica.

Ooh, yes, Rachel Weisz! She's one of my favorites and I always forget her. The MI3 chick is okay, too, I liked her in that movie, but she was too creepily like Katie Holmes and that freaked me out.

Thanks, Stacy!

Natalie, I liked Michelle in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, too, and she came through in the movie, I thought. But I have another new possibility for a heroine - the actress who used to be on NCIS, was Pacey's sis on Dawson's Creek, and was Tim Daly's wife on The Nine. She's a hair old, but I love her voice.
