Trace actually goes along with that because he's going to end up being wealthy.

I chose Kit because she's the main character in The Witch of Blackbird Pond, which I'm reading to my kids. Since I came up with the idea teaching Social Studies, I thought I'd tie it all into my class.

Marianne, you challenged me. I was so proud of having 1300 words that early, then I saw your word count and said, "I need to get cracking!"MJFredrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06881706931355203700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13241994.post-25630197641671503582008-11-01T11:02:00.000-05:002008-11-01T11:02:00.000-05:00Got you note about word count --- YOU ROCK!!!!Got you note about word count --- YOU ROCK!!!!Marianne Arkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00934613403368823760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13241994.post-80758609063107529212008-11-01T10:02:00.000-05:002008-11-01T10:02:00.000-05:00I like the idea of using the Social Security site ...I like the idea of using the Social Security site for finding origin of names. I suppose you could do some genealogy research. I know I find weird names in my family history.

I had a friend, his son was a III, they called him Trey. I thought it was neat.

ReneeReneehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10661396654827059313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13241994.post-18357918742619078062008-11-01T09:16:00.000-05:002008-11-01T09:16:00.000-05:00I had a student once we called Trace, and it reall...I had a student once we called Trace, and it really meant "the third" as in George Edward Smith, III. That might be an option. You could name him anything you wanted that way.
I use the Social Security website--type in the birth year, but I don't know how far that goes back. With Kit--that's an old name. Remember, Kit from American Girl. We have the name Katharine (actually Kathryn) in our family.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
