Most of the John Wayne movies I've seen are his war movies, too.

I remember when Lonesome Dove was on and my mom loved Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Duvall (see, I come by it naturally). I've heard of the Snowy River movies but not seen them.

I can't believe I forgot 3:10 to Yuma! LOVE that movie! I saw some Kevin Costner western a few weeks ago that wasn't too bad, a range war type of thing. I wish I'd seen the Magnificent 7 with Michael Biehn. Love him.

I saw Gunsmoke the other day, too. I loved the marshall. And Festus (right? I'm also doing the Addam's Family at school now) was funny.MJFredrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06881706931355203700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13241994.post-1901614948319880422008-10-23T23:53:00.000-05:002008-10-23T23:53:00.000-05:00Loved Gunsmoke - especially the episode with Harry...Loved Gunsmoke - especially the episode with Harry Morgan as the dad of three sons (?) and he decided it was time they got married so they kidnapped some saloon girls. :)

What was that western with an actor named Alain Delon? John Wayne was in it, too. Great movie!

Like the Sons of Katie Elder (Jimmy Stewart, Dean Martin, etc.)

Growing up, there was a lot of westerns on TV. I never watched BONANZA, though. I think that was on NBC and we didn't get that channel with our "rabbit ears". We didn't have cable until the 80's.

I think I watched El Chaparral or was it Cimarron Strip? So many westerns! I was a TV fanatic as a teen and watched everything I could. Unforgiven was good, and is one of the hubby's favorite movies. On TV, I loved The Young Riders and the newer The Magnificent Seven with Micheal Biehn, Ron Perlman, Dale Midkiff, etc. Also liked reruns of Bonanza and Gunsmoke when I was a kid.Trish Milburnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08812010789617982102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13241994.post-86937374391464140822008-10-23T11:14:00.000-05:002008-10-23T11:14:00.000-05:00Silverado, for sure... Definitely the Sacketts (but that may partly be because I loved the books, too). And, nearly any John Wayne. Clint Eastwood's spaghetti westerns were great. Oh, and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was pretty dang awesome... and...

Sheesh, I'll stop. But I love them westerns!

And, for whatever reason, Blogger won't accept my google profile. Tom Selleck in The Sacketts and Quigley Down Under.
And the (very wonderful) Austrailian movies "The Man From Snowy River" and "Return to Snowy River." Have seen all of those many times. Of course, one of the epics was T.V. miniseries, "Lonesome Dove."CandaceCalverthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17066497150144388740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13241994.post-6827025856294736032008-10-23T06:38:00.000-05:002008-10-23T06:38:00.000-05:00I haven't seen 'The Electric Horsemen' in years bu...I haven't seen 'The Electric Horsemen' in years but I loved it. When it comes to Westerns I was raised on John Wayne and Clint Eastwod. My favorite John Wayne ones are 'Red River' and 'The Searchers'. My favorite Clint Eastwood ones are 'High Plains Drifter' and 'A Fistful of Dollars'.MicheleKShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14395738979569634630noreply@blogger.com
