Be Careful What You Wish For
more animals
Had a big package waiting for me when I got home from tutoring yesterday. Yup, an R from Silhouette. Unsympathetic characters and dark elements. Le sigh. BUT I said I'd move forward and I already had a request for it from my Hot Shot editor. I hope she loves it.
Funny story, though. After tutoring, one of my students said, "Don't forget to go to Blockbuster." I asked him why. He said, "You always tell us to remind you to go to Blockbuster after tutoring." See, because new movies come out on Tuesday, and I tutor on Tuesday. This week, though, Wall-E came through the mail. I may trade it for Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants today, though.
And speaking of - how amazing was Wall-E??? I LOVE him!!!

So sorry to hear about the R. I wish you the best of luck elsewhere with it.
I loved Wall-E even though I cried like mad at towards the end even though I knew the end itself would be happy.
Mar, I'm sorry about the R. But the R is probably reflective of why I haven't read a Silhouette for years...because they are rejecting works like yours.
Wonder if they are still trying to figure out why readership of categories is down...

Hugs on the R, Mary. That blows. What are "dark elements?" Have you tried Intrigue?
I love, love, love Wall-E. I just got it for my birthday and might have to watch it tonight.
So sorry about the R.
I loved Wall*E, too!
Thanks, Michele! One of my students told me, before I watched it, that I wouldn't like it because it was really sad.
JoAnn, I hate to say the last SRS I read was disappointing, a deus ex machina ending. But it did at least have an ending, unlike my Nano book...
Tracy, thanks. There was torture and kidnapping and children in jeopardy...there's probably more. I haven't read it in over a year. I forgot about the torture bit. Yup, dark.
Thanks, Natalie!
