Last night I used the Smooth Away miracle product and can I just say----
WOW, that hurt. STILL hurts. I know, I know, it's sand paper, essentially, but it looked harmless enough. WRONG. And it takes WAY longer than shaving, too. So me, out $10.
It's the time of year where I need new make-up. I'm looking for suggestions. I'm in my 40s, have VERY sensitive skin. I've been using Maybelline's Age Rewind, but it doesn't last probably until lunch. I'm intrigued by the Cover Girl one Ellen Degeneres hawks. Or those mineral ones, but since they're powdery and I no longer have the skin of a twenty-something, I hesitate.
Then there's mascara. I've been using Cover Girl's Last Blast, which is okay, but I wonder if something else might better suit my skimpy lashes.
And my moisturizer is from Garnier.
Yes, I buy my make-up from the grocery store, so....what do you suggest?

I'm older than you, and also shop at the grocery store. Here's my list. Physician's Formula Mineral Makeup. It comes in wide tube with a sponge attached to it. It stays on and doesn't look crepey. Is that a word? Anyway, I use the bronzer from P.F. too instead of powder. I like Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-wrinkle cream, spf 15. It's $12 a tube, but lasts a long time. I use it every morning under the base. My sister got me started on it and it works without pain. I'm with you on sensitive skin. Good Luck.
Avon's Anew products really do work. I use Anew Advanced All-In-One SPF 15 Cream... the first time I used it, I swear I petted my own skin it was so smooth and soft, lol.
I've used Clinique for a couple of years and loved it - very sensitive skin... but I'm ready for a change, too.
Someone just told me about Bare Minerals, so I might look into it...
Oooh, great suggestions, Liz!!! Adding to my list.
Marianne, one of the teachers at school sells Avon. I'll have to check those out. I got one of those exfoliating kits from Loreal a couple of years back and the moisturizer that went with that was GREAT. I don't think they sell it on its own. But I was like you, petting my own skin!
Sarah, I don't go to the mall if I can help it at all. My best friend in HS swore by Clinique, but me-grocery store girl.
That's so funny, I just got that Smooth Away stuff, too! It didn't hurt me, and it worked great on my leg hair, but didn't do a single thing for my upper lip.
I don't wear very much makeup, but I'm looking for something for sparse lashes, too, and this week at the beach my skin looked awful--huge pores, huge freckles--so I'm looking for a tightener or something, I guess.
*sigh* I'm so ignorant.
Whatever you do, Natalie, DON'T USE IT UNDER YOUR ARMS. YEOWCH!
I got the Phys Form stuff today but haven't opened it yet. Also got Loreal mascara because it was on sale. Also, haven't tried.
Okay, weird, but I didn't even consider doing that! LOL
I'll be interested to see what you think about the stuff you got.
