Janice Lynn loves Matthew McConaughey. Just in case you didn’t know. We were discussing that she wouldn’t have fallen in love with him in Sahara, but that How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days really got her excited about him.
I remember seeing Gerard Butler in Attila, thinking he had gorgeous eyes. Also saw Tomb Raider, and thought he COULD be handsome but for the hair. Now we all know how that turned out. I like all his movies but Dracula, and I even watch that one on occasion.
There are some actors I like, but only in certain roles.
Hugh Jackman – Wolverine and Paperback Hero. NOT Swordfish or Someone Like You, though he was very cute. Just not – attractive, ya know?
Dennis Quaid – The Rookie and The Big Easy. NOT In Good Company, The Day After Tomorrow or Flight of the Phoenix.
Matthew – A Time to Kill. NOT The Wedding Planner.
Johnny Depp – Pirates and Chocolat. NOT, well, anything else.
Viggo Mortensen – Aragorn, Hidalgo and that movie with Diane Lane. NOT A Perfect Murder.
Keanu – Speed, A Walk in the Clouds and The Replacements. NOT Bill and Ted or that movie about nuclear weapons. Or the dumb baseball movie.
Clive Owen – King Arthur, yeah. Beyond Borders, yeah. NOT Closer.
Colin Farrell – Yes, SWAT. No anything else. Though maybe John Smith….
What are your picks?

You are right on all of them!!! I hated Closer! Yuk. I guess I'd add Christian Bale in Batman and Russell Crowe in Gladiator, LA Confidential.
For me, Gerad looked best in Tomb Raider, Russell Crowe was never hotter than he was in Gladiator, and Hugh Jackman was majorly-hot in X-Men even with the goofy haircut though I think he looked hotter in Swordfish (even though that movie is so ridiculously stupid). And Colin's looked good in four movies: SWAT, Tigerland, The Recruit, and American Outlaws.
Definitely agree on Russell Crowe in Gladiator. Haven't liked him in anything else.
Also agree on The Recruit.
I also agree on Russel Crowe in Gladiator. I'd add Johnny Depp (plus to Pirates and Chocolat) in "Once Upon Time in Mexico" (hopefully, I remember the title correctly). And I think almost all men in "Mummy Returns" are hot, especially Oded Fehr!
Gerard in Tomb Raider, Clive in King Arthur, Brendan Fraser in the Mummy movies, Russell Crowe in LA Confidential, Viggo in The Lord of the Rings, Keanu in Speed and A Walk in the Clouds, Dougray Scott in Ever After.
On behalf of my sister Jessie (Hi Mary) I will add: Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones }:)
HOW could I leave out Brendan and Oded??? And Harrison Ford?? And Dougray! (Not in MI2, though)
I didn't see Once Upon a Time in Mexico - I'm pretty squeamish.
Hi, Jessie!!!!
Oh Bonnie! I adored Dougray Scott in Ever After. That is such a romantic movie.
Mine is, well, Matthew OF COURSE. (pucker up, baby!) He's my number one hottie of all time. Jon Bon Jovi held that rank during my teen years, though. Jon is still a hottie.
I liked Hugh Jackman in Kate & Leopold. I enjoyed the guy who plays Jake in Sweet Home Alabama, but can't think of his name, so that says something, eh? I watched King Authur (again) last night, so Clive Owens is definitely on my hottie list right now. Brad Pitt & Eric Bana in Troy, yeah, I'd take them both and not complain one little bit--except perhaps about so many muscles and so little time...Russell Crowe does nothing for me. Gerard is Gerard, enough said. Colin, I liked him in Daredevil, yeah I know he was a psycho bad guy, but he was a hot one. I like Keauna as Neo. Johnny Depp as a pirate. George Clooney in just about anything.
Fun topic, Mary!
Brad Pitt in A River Runs Through It, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Troy. Eric Bana in Troy and Blackhawk Down. Yum. George Clooney in Three Kings was my basis for Gabe in Hot Shot. But yeah, Clooney in just about anything, from the show Sisters forward.
Aww, I liked What a Girl Wants. But Colin Firth was cute in Hope Springs and Love Actually.
Another one - Hugh Grant. Loved him in Two Weeks Notice and Love Actually.
I did this "seven things" blog quiz and had to list seven celebrity crushes. Here's who I put (though I forgot about Brendan Frasier...mmmm...):
Seven Celebrity Crushes (After reviewing my answers, I have to say - I'm kind of weird)
1. Bill Pullman (was he CUTE in "While You Were Sleeping" or what?)
2. Sean Connery (He's forty years older than me and still sexy)
3. Viggo Mortensen (But only as Aragorn)
4. Dougray Scott (Sigh... "Ever After"...)
5. Val Kilmer (I fell madly in love with him in "The Saint")
6. David Duchovny
7. Freddie Prinze Jr. (I don't know why, but I could watch "She's All That" a hundred times because of him, even if he is young enough to be my son)
Oh, yes, loved Bill Pullman in While You Were Sleeping. And in Independence Day. Also loved Jeff Goldblum, Will Smith AND Adam Baldwin in Independence Day.
The movie I loved Sean Connery in was Darby O'Gill and the Little People. He even sang! I used to show that movie to my class every St. Patrick's Day, just to drool ;)
Never got into David Duchovny, Val Kilmer or Freddie Prinze. Is he still married to Sarah Michelle Gellar?
Ooh, another...Tim Robbins in Mission to Mars. I loves me a tall man. Gary Sinise in The Stand.
Oh I have to agree on The Recruit--I loved that movie. Great list mary!
Janice is gonna have to fight me for Matthew =)
the guy who plays Jake.....crap I know his name too he's my model for one of my heros. GAWD he's hot. TOo many good ones alreay listed! Will Smith and Freddy and there's another young un I love....the guy that goes without sex for Lent? He's hot. Josh? Crap. Hartnet
Mary, what a great topic! Just thinking about all these hotties gets my juices flowing. Let's see...
I loved Pierce Brosnan in The Thomas Crown Affair, and he's okay as Bond, but didn't like him in anything else.
Brad Pitt in Mr & Mrs Smith and also in Ocean's Eleven (haven't seen Twelve).
Matt Damon in The Bourne Supremacy (I liked him in Identity, but I got a huge major crush on him in Surpremacy. Watched the movie two days in a row. He was so much more...ON, and in charge. Yum.)
Harrison Ford as Indy and also as Han Solo. Didn't like him so much as Jack whatever his name was in the Clancy book movies.
Michael Keaton as Batman...didn't like him in anything else.
Of course, Viggo as Aragorn. Yum, yum, yum.
I didn't like Orlando as the Elf (why can't I think of his name!), but I loved him in Pirates.
I thought Depp was brilliant as Jack Sparrow, but he wasn't hot. He was hot, HOT, HOT in Chocolat. Oooo baby.
Colleen
Gotta agree on Bourne Identity and Batman!
Plays Jake in what, Cece? Josh Hartnet doesn't do anything for me - can't get past the mole....
Men...
Gerard Butler in everything, incl. Dracula, but that's just because of Damien. :) There is nothing on the planet like Gerard in POTO. The minute he sings, I am lost for good.
Antonio Banderas...particulary in Zorro and his European films, and in my all time fav, Of Love and Shadows. Gads...OLAS...Francisco, the love scene in the cave...aieee...
Russell Crowe in The Gladiator. Also liked him in Master and Commander and Cinderella Man. Even A Beautiful Mind.
Tim McGraw. 'Nuff said. Just sing for me, Tim, and I'm yours!
Mel Gibson in his earlier films. I do like to watch that man kiss. He looks extremely good at it.
I like men who sound intelligent and witty when they speak. I am a very aural person. The way a man talks, how he handles himself, and what he has to say, is the single major factor in his attractiveness to me. I'd spend a great time with Billy Crystal from When Harry met Sally. I'd like to listen to Harry Connick Jr. and that New Orleans accent. Hugh Grant would make me a happy camper for weeks. This part of the list can go on forever.
All my life, I've been crazy for Jewish men. My best friend when I was growing up was Jewish, and I practically lived in her house...I grew up loving them all. This means everyone from Jerry Seinfeld to Alan King (anyone remember him?) could have made me a very happy woman.
This list is so long, and I've barely scratched the surface. I've loved reading all the answers!
Hugs,
J
Ohh-I loved Russell Crowe in Proof of Life and sad though I may be, I loved Brad in Troy. Orlando Bloom in LOTR
My fav...Eric Bana in anything, but NOT in Chopper!!
Not a big fan of Colin Farrell
Huh, so I should take Chopper off my Blockbuster queue?
Yes on Russell in Proof of Life, though he almost looked TOO bulked up.
Wow, so many good answers here. I tend to like Brad Pitt in the movies where he has long hair (Legends of the Fall, Troy); same with Daniel Day-Lewis (Last of the Mohicans); Eric Bana in Troy (LOVE the scene where he's putting on his armor after making what was no doubt fabulous love to his wife). I know there are others I'm forgetting at the moment.
Hated, HATED Legends of the Fall. Don't think I can stress this enough. Though Brad was beautiful. DDL did look great in Mohicans. And you're right about the Hector scene in Troy - mmmmm.
Mary, who got her Damien fix tonight
Josh Lucas played Jake in Sweet Home Alabama.......YUMMITY SCRUMMITY
I loved Hugh Jackman in Kate and Leopold, and The Boy from Oz. Love Mcconaughey in everything. Love Gerald in everything but Dracula, but really that movie was so bad, no one came off good. Russelll never looked more awesome in Gladiator. Don't really see the appeal of Colin Farrell except as a one night stand. George Clooney in Intolerable Cruelty, Out of Sight, Oceans Eleven (but not Twelve), never liked Johnny Depp until Finding Neverland, Colin Firth in everything, Josh Lucas in Sweet Home Alabama, Dougray Scott in Ever After, Clive Owen in everything, James Purefoy in everything.
Now, I didn't like Josh Lucas, but I do agree on James Purefoy. I understand from Jill I'm missing quite the spectacle on Empire.
