I love being home.
Yesterday I had the kitchen (my room for the day) cleaned by 9 AM. I ran to Michael's, because they had yarn on sale, stocked up (meaning, bought 12 skeins, spent $45), was home by 9:30. I worked on Surface for a bit while drinking three glasses of grapefruit juice, got the mail (including a Christmas package from my agent - how fun!), got an email from her, went back to work on Hot Shot. Made lunch for me and the boy (Totinos pizzas are a tradition), watched All My Children (I'm weird, I like daytime commercials, especially cleaning products), worked on Hot Shot some more. I just need clarification on one thing she wanted me to change. Took a nap, got up, worked on Surface some more, made a goooood dinner of pasta, garlic bread and salad, sat in front of the TV and crocheted (watched Kingdom of Heaven, finally.) Just a perfect day.
Today, the kitchen pantry and fridge, Blockbuster to get Serenity. Cold and rainy today. Perfect crochet weather.
Kinda has a Clooney/Perfect Storm thing going here, doesn't he?

It sounds perfect and serene, Mar. I still haven't had that kind of downtime yet, I'm driving my daughter to finals every morning, picking her up, taking her to the tutor, getting the house clean for my parent's annual Mexican food Christmas here on Thursday, etc. I hope to have some days like you are describing next week, when Yuletide is past the first few frantic days.
Can you teach me to knit or crochet, Mar? I want to learn.
J
I'd love to learn to crochet or knit too. My two critique partners are knitting fiends, and all I can do is cross-stitch. You know, maybe I'll pull that out after I get these revisions done. Haven't cross-stitched in a long time.
Since I'm not having Christmas at my house I can take it easy. I have three gift cards left to buy, but I HATE going in the areas I need to go, ya know?
I'm kinda mad at Blockbuster. With the online service, you get two coupons for free movies a month. I went to go get Cinderella Man and The Island, since Brothers Grimm and Must Love Dogs are on their way in the mail and I bought Serenity. They didn't have either in stock, and when I asked the girl at the counter (I was the only one in line) she was rude. :P
That sounds like a fabulous day, Mary :)
Gosh, I wish I had your day. Mine was spent scrubbing the wood floor in the foyer/living room/dining room. Polishing the wood furnature. Washing the windows. Restocking the supply shelves in the basement with the grocery items I bought yesterday (where I spent six hours in Wal-Mart and the supermarket). Needless to say, I'm dog tired. Glad you're having fun, Mary. :-\

Goodness, Tanya!!! Six hours! And scrubbing floors - ick!
Today was not as good. for one, the boy woke at 11:45!!! I had already started my own lunch. When I went to take a nap, he ate all the brownies. Why can't I see that he did me a favor???
Mary--your day sounds fab! Today I spent the morning cleaning up mouse poop from the spare room (why they like it in there I don't know) and then trudged for an hour and a half at -19C to and from kindy, dragging my three year old in the sled behind me!
Have another nice day tomorrow and get more brownies!!
Toni, BRRRRR! Especially after Florida, right?
