OKay, check in....I got the Tormented Souls Swatch I wanted (I don't know if I should wear it to school. I also got March of the Penguins from the ds, Waterman pens from my dad and stepmom, and the surprise....an ancient Judean coin charm from the dh. Apparently this has been a plan for some time - the jewelers were having trouble finding a mount for it. It's a charm to symbolize the story I'm working on now. What a guy, right?
Merry Christmas, Mary!!!
Niiiiice, Mary.
I bought my own Christmas this year--again. Nobody can ever find the stuff I want, and they're not computer savvy enough to go to Amazon.com to get it, so I just buy my own Christmas gifts and save everybody else the hassle. Plus, that way I get what I want. :)
This year, I got some books, including Gayle Wilson's most recent HQN romantic suspense, DOUBLE BLIND. Can't wait to read that, but I'm going to have to make it a reward for getting pages on my WIP done. I got A Little Big Town CD, THE ROAD TO HERE, and my brother got me a gift certificate to, yeah, Amazon.com. I also bought myself a four-in-one printer, copier, scanner and fax machine. I had to decide between that and a DVR, but practicality won out this year.
Maybe I'll buy myself the DVR for my birthday in June. ;)
The best part of the day was watching my nieces open their gifts. They're all still young enough to believe in Santa, so the old guy got most of the credit, darn it. But it was so much fun to watch them ooh and ahh over everything they got. (Actually, the ten-year-old kept saying, "Awwwesome!")
Merry Christmas, y'all!
Paula
Paula, Christmas with kids is the best. My son is the youngest, and he's 14, so last night wasn't as much fun as it's been in the past. This morning, though, when he thought he was done with his gifts, and his dad scooted out the couch to reveal the guitar case....that was fun.
I love the idea of buying your own gifts! We went back and forth on the DVR, too. Maybe for my birthday/mother's day.
My best friend Cindi (she of the tormented Secret Santa) came by when we were at church and left a GORGEOUS bejeweled box. I can't find anything worthy enough to store in it!
Merry Christmas, Mary :)
Happy Christmas, Mar! We spent the day with family, and it was lovely. My son introduced his girlfriend to all the relatives for the first time, and it went very well. I know they feel good to get this extended "Meet the Parents" experience done! LOL I dyed my daughter's hair black, and she looks beautiful...just like my husband's side of the family now, they of the raven tresses! My husband was injured at work last night, so that was definitely NOT good...but he is feeling a bit better this evening. More medical treatment to come...we hang in. But all in all, I can stand and look up at the night sky tonight and say, "Hey, I'm still standing!" And I'm grateful for that, in so many ways. Hugs, Mar. I'm glad your Yule was wonderful.
Love you,
J
Merry Christmas, Bonnie and JoAnn!
JoAnn, glad you had such a nice holiday! Sorry about Scott, though! How scary!
Looks like you had a wonderful Xmas, Mary!!!
All the best to you and your family.
Stephanie
