I Dun Git It

So I joined Twitter and played with my MySpace page this break, but.....now what? Twitter seems to be a kind of stream-of-consciousness thing, but you have to make the effort to log in, right?
And MySpace...I finally figured out the blog thing, but what else do you do? I added music, but I probably won't remember to go back over and even listen!
Can anyone tell me the point? Or is there one?

I think of MySpace as a constantly running ad that shows my book covers, gives the reader a quick overview of me and my work. A fast place to see what Joanna Prater/Joanna K. Moore is about. Beyond that, I focus more on my blogspot blog...just as you do.

Personally, I like Facebook way better than MySpace. But I have a hard time remembering to log into Twitter.
And I'm the opposite of Tori. FaceBook was a huge time suck for me, and I saw very little benefit in terms of showing at a glance who I am and what I do.
MySpace is just a website for people who like MySpace. It does have the advantage--which I never use!--of allowing you to post bulletins, which are little announcements that go to all of your friends.
Having MySpace friends and blog readers is something you can tell your publisher you're doing, so you get promo points. It's free and not too time-consuming once it's set up. :)
I'm on all of those -- Facebook (which I prefer), MySpace (which I think is junky and cluttered and not as easy to use) and Twitter (which I also forget to log into). One side benefit of Facebook is that I've found lots of my high school classmates.
JoAnn, how is it an ad for your cover, though?
I've not tried Facebook. I spent hours on MySpace, so I'm not ready to try something else. I like my alter ego's MySpace page best.
