Guilty Pleasure Movies
see more Lolcats and funny pictures
I was bummed to read in Entertainment Weekly that Sunday was a Jaws marathon on Encore. I LOVE Jaws. I enjoyed Jaws 2. But my guilty pleasure is Jaws 3. I love that ridiculous ridiculous 3D movie. I love that it's set at a Sea World. I love that they have an underwater part at the Sea World. I love the cheese.
I also love Christmas Vacation. I think I watched it a dozen times last December. I always think I'm going to watch whichever part is coming up next, but then I get sucked in. I crack up at the lights, the houseguests, the squirrel.
And the movie Soapdish--have you seen it? Robert Downey Jr, Kevin Kline, Whoopi Goldberg, Sally Field, set in the backstage world of a soap opera. It's a reunion romance (hey, I forgot this one!) and a secret baby, and RDJ is delicious. Also Kevin Kline.
What are your guilty pleasure movies?

I'm not a huge movie person but the one that immediately comes to mind is The American President. I loved Annette Bening and Michael Douglas in that one. Could watch it over and over.
I have sharkaphobia thanks to seeing Jaws at the drive-in when I was a little kid. I remember Dad driving us home saying he wasn't going into the shower without a harpoon from now on. My guilty pleasures are usually John Hughes teen angst movies. Love them.
Oh, I do like American President. It's pretty good. I love Michael J Fox.
Kelly, sorry about the shark-o-phobia, but cool that you saw it in the drive-in! LOL on the harpoon comment. I love the John hughes movies, too, esp. 16 Candles.
No guilty pleasures movies, just pleasures! No reason to feel guilty! :)
Steel Magnolias, Hope Floats and Groundhog Day and Pale Rider. I love, love, love these movies. I watch them every time they're on TV even though I own the DVDs.
I love the John Hughes movies, too. Actually I love all those 80s teen movies. And The Lost Boys. I'd completely forgotten about The Lost Boys until just now.
LOL, Natalie!
Ohh, Mary Beth, I love Steel Magnolias and Hope Floats. My son is still scarred from me taking him into Borders when he was little, both of us dressed in our bathing suits because we'd been to Sea World, so I could get the soundtrack. I wrote Where There's Smoke to that soundtrack. And funny, I was going to mention Lost Boys, too. LOVE that movie!!!
