Things I DIDN'T Do for Halloween This Year
Oh, look, my weather pixie has a jack o'lantern.
I don't. I didn't even buy a pumpkin this year. I have a ceramic one I'll light tonight, but I'm not carving.
I didn't plan a special menu. I didn't bake Halloween cookies (except for those Nestle ones). I didn't take half a day to make special Jello treats for a party.
I didn't buy scented candles or mums.
My class didn't finish ONE Halloween art project.
I didn't wear my Winnie the Pooh Halloween shirt.
I don't know if it's because the boy is getting older, or if I'm just losing interest. I don't want to lose interest, ya know?
It's 64 and humid, and my costume is velvet. Gah.

Hugs Mary.
I love Halloween, but I haven't done much for it either. If y'all get the front we've got, your weather is going to cool down. It's cold in WF this morning.
I decorated the house and built the ancestor honoring altar earlier in the month...but tonight I am taking the DD out for one last night of trick-or-treating, she still wants to go once more while she is still a schoolgirl. But I am not in the "mood" as much as I usually am. It may be because I am already in Thanksgiving mode, since we are hosting this year...it may be because I already am dreading putting up the Christmas tree, and that is over a month away. I'm tired! I think overall, tiredness is what is making it a bit harder to celebrate this year. It's been a LOONNGGG year.
Hugs, Mar.

Not significantly cooler yet, though that front is on the way. I DIED in my velvet gown! (One of the third graders had the same costume.)
We didn't do scary stories or scary songs. I felt so odd. Maybe it was the heat!
Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday!
OK all of the stuff you didn't do? ME too!! Now usually, I'm right into Halloween. It's my favourite holiday, to be honest (I'm a pagan at heart), but because we just bought a car today, we didn't go shopping for candies this year, and so I turned all the lights off in my house and didn't answer the door. I felt like a horrible woman. I hid for like 4 hours.
Congratulations on the new car, Jessie! I tell you, we hardly had any trick or treaters! Sad, huh?
