Countdowns
Sometimes my dad says I wish my life away. I don’t think of it that way – I just like to have things to look forward to. When I had my other terrible job, this was the only way I could get through the year.
Here are some of the things I’m counting down to:
3 days till Sheila winners announced
3 weeks till the Put Your Heart in a Book finalists are announced
3 1/2 weeks till our first 3 day weekend
4 weeks till Where the Magic Begins finalists are announced
5 weeks till PASIC winners are announced
5 weeks till the season premiere of LOST!
6 weeks till the Maggie winners are announced
11 weeks till The Legend of Zorro comes out
11 weeks till Halloween (I LOOOOOVE Halloween)
14 weeks till Goblet of Fire
14 weeks till Thanksgiving vacation
15 weeks till Hot Prospects finalists announced
18 weeks till Christmas vacation!
Now, if I was really on the ball, I’d have more season premiere stuff in there ;)
What are some things you’re counting down to?

I'm such a contest baby. You're inspirational. :-)
My only count down right now is 5 days until I see my new students.
I've got 5 days till I see all the teachers, 12 till I see my new students. But I have an inservice today :( At least I'll be with my buddy Cindi!
I like a lot of your counting down days, Mar! ZORRO! Yes, yes, yes.
Things I'm looking forward to...
1. The next pic of Gerard that Mar posts to her blog. Sigh.
2. The first day I'm called in for work...that means $$$.
3. December 2005---my publication date.
4. All Hallow's Eve...I agree, Mar, it's a great day! I always feel at my absolute best on All Hallow's Eve...for reasons that are probably pretty clear. But I love all the festival days on the wheel of the year. Each have special meaning to me.
5. Christmas...I can NEVER get enough Christmas. Period.
6. The next time I get some time to myself, all alone. I need some of that.
7. Finishing the book I'm currently writing and submitting it---then starting work on another. The beat goes on.
8. Shopping with Mar at SteinMart again. This time with money in my pocket. 'Nuff said.
Hugs,
JoAnn
Okay, I have 5 days until Jury Duty and 6 days until the first day of school.
Hopefully two weeks (or less) until I'm done with the first draft of this book, 7 weeks until a family vacation in the mountains, the premiere of LOST, Serenity's release, Goblet of Fire's release, hopefully getting the call. :)
Oh, Serenity's release! I forgot! I've been watching Firefly on DVD.
LOL on Stein Mart, JoAnn! And I BET you're ready for some alone time!
Yep, I'm counting down to the release of Serenity too! I have Firefly and was sad at the last episode!
I'm also counting down the end of the school year.
FYI tomorrow's the first full day.
I'm doing a count-up, if that will work. Two months since I mailed my revised full to M&B....
As for countdowns...
2 weeks of freedom left before school starts and I have to teach again...waaahhh...
I'm not counting till the end of the school year yet. I'm actually really happy in my job (you can ask Trish and JoAnn how unusual this is.) As stressful as it is with all the testing, I like the challenge. I like the kids. I love the teachers.
Michelle, did I know you were a teacher, too? We're everywhere!
Got a few contest entries out there mary? *ggg* I"m teasing!!!!1
Firefly rocks! God bless blockbuster online! I got it on Jorie and Jaye's recommendation and i loved it! Gonna have to buy my own set I think. I'm counting down the days to Serenity too and so is #2 son.
Three days to my chapter meeting.
Like four days till we see Four Brothers
And Five days till school starts! WAHOOO
Just a couple of contests ;) I did refrain from entering three more yesterday - the postage would've done me in!
Trish has been talking about Firefly, and I did so love Buffy and Angel. We've seen the first 2 discs now. Our favorite episode so far is Safe (my son goes around now saying, "Ain't we just?"), and we liked Jaynestown (I think that was the title.) Joss Whedon is amazing.
Four brothers doesn't appeal, thank goodness. I'm a little behind on theater movies :)
I did have a countdown going for my long weekend. And I have a count up going on how long my Q&S has been on that editor's desk. Do those count? OH and a countdown to the Moonlight and Magnolias conference.
LOL on the count-ups. I have queries out for about a week. :(
I guess M&M is definitely out for me - the new clutch on the LC is going to cost $1000.
Joss Whedon IS amazing. I finished the last two disks last weekend. (((Mary)) on the clutch! I sent a query out two weeks ago so it'd be on the editors desk when she got back from nationals. Then figured I had at least two months to wait. Guess what I got yesterday--my head is still spinning. Then there's the two partials at one house since March GAAAAAAAAA Makes no sense sometimes, huh
Ugh on the R, Cece! I'm kinda thinking mine are all gonna come at once.
