Angels Fall
Y'all know I wasn't all that impressed with Blue Smoke. So when I bought my stepmother Angels Fall on CD, I was a bit concerned. (okay, not THAT concerned - she liked Bridges of Madison County.)
But then I read Angels Fall.
Wow.
Classic Nora.
Great characters, great romance, great mystery. The whole time, you were questioning the heroine - is she really losing her mind? And the heroine, Reece, has suffered an awful tragedy that she has to overcome. The hero, Brody, wasn't as developed, but he made a great arc through the book.
Loved Loved Loved it. It's going on my keeper shelf as soon as JoAnn gets through!

Good to know. I've been looking at that one thinking, "I love Nora, but didn't like Blue Smoke at all." Might have to pick up Angels Fall after all.
I 100% agree - after "Blue Smoke" I'd decided that I pretty much wasn't interested in Nora's hardbacks. So I grabbed "Angels Fall" at the library and was blown away! Not super fast paced, but it's all about the characters. What an awesome job she did. I was totally invested in them from the get go.
I didn't read Blue Smoke--I'm SO behind on my reading. But I'm glad to know Angels Fall is a good one.
You read so much faster than I do, Mary. I've been so slowed down because of the kids and work being crazy, I've been reading the same book for about a month now. And does it stop me from buying more? No, it does not. Ugh.
Hi, Mary!
I didn't read Blue Smoke, but I've got Angels Fall. You've just bumped it up a couple notches. thanks!
I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who didn't like Blue Smoke. It just wasn't Nora, to me.
I think part of the reason I liked Angels Fall was that it wasn't fast. It wasn't urgent, really till the last half.
Tracy, I don't have little kids or a publisher - my summer is pretty much my own. It did almost take me a week to read AF, though. Big book.
HEY, Cindy! You found me!
I've only read a couple of Nora Roberts. One I liked a lot, one I didn't care for much at all. But I'll keep my eye out for this one.
Kelly, I remember you saying you weren't too impressed with Nora. This is one of my favorites, along with Carnal Innocence, Divine Evil, Rising Tides.....I know there are more, but that's off the top of my head.
