It's the First Day of School....
I plan to be out of here in 30 minutes. You should see all the stuff I have to load in the car.
I'm also blogging at Wet Noodle Posse today.
I don't remember who I stole this from.
1. One book that changed my life: I would have to say Karen Robards’ Dark of the Moon. I had not read romance before and it hooked me.
2. One book that I have read more than once: Winter Roses by Anita Mills
3. One book I would want on a deserted island: Errrr….one? Seriously? Voyager, I guess, by Diana Gabaldon. Or Through a Glass Darkly by Karleen Koen.
4. One book that made me laugh: Eileen Rendahl’s Do Me, Do My Roots
5. One book that made me cry: Through a Glass Darkly by Karleen Koen
6. One book I wish I'd written: Any of Cindy Gerard or Cherry Adair’s action adventures.
7. One book I wish had never been written: Anything that inspires hate.
8. One book I am currently reading: The Remarkable Miss Frankenstein by Minda Webber
9. One book I have been meaning to read: Cotton Queen by Pamela Morsi

Good luck on your first day back!
Yeah, Mary, I hope your first day back goes well!
Did you know Karleen Koen just sold another book? I read it somewhere; I have her Through a Glass Darkly on my shelf and have had it for ages, but have never read it. Guess I'd better!
Thanks, Marianne and Colleen! It was the best first day, ever! I was less prepared than I would have liked, but it was cool!
Colleen, you really should read that book. It's not a romance in the strictest sense, but she takes you so deeply into the characters. I rewrote the ending, I knew the characters so well!
Hope your first day went well!!
Glad to hear you had a great day! *wg*
Glad your day went well, Mary. I couldn't resist this quiz.
1. One book that changed my life: Sweet Savage Love by Rosemary Rogers
2. One book that I have read more than once: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott [and Dark Star (old Harl Romance) by Nerina Hilliard, I believe]
3. One book I would want on a deserted island: whatever I’m currently reading and really enjoying because I’d go crazy not knowing what happened
4. One book that made me laugh: Portraits by Stef Ann Holm (wonderful writer, like to read more of her books, recently discovered her, I won the book at my RWA Chapter meeting – it’s a story set in 1900’s small western town, lady photographer)
5. One book that made me cry: Portraits by Stef Ann Holm (wonderful writer, did I already say that?)
6. One book I wish I'd written: Dirty Girls Social Club by Alicia Valdez-Rodriguez (she opened the door to Latina Chick Lit, plus she got a reportedly huge advance)
7. One book I wish had never been written: ?
8. One book I am currently reading: An Offer From a Gentleman by Julia Quinn
9. One book I have been meaning to read: Burro Genius by Victor Villasenor (but if it goes into those long speeches like the present one I’m reading by him, I’m throwing it against the wall)
Lupe
Lupe, I always love knowing what you're reading because a lot of these people I've never heard of. Off to add some more titles to my wish list....
Thanks, April and Tempest! I'm feeling the groove again!
Argh, I'm late with this, but couldn't resist. I loved Through a Glass Darkly. That was such a great book. I read it when it came out (almost 20 years ago!?!), and the characters are still clear. Thanks for reminding me of it. I'll have to pull it down when I get a chance.
Stacy
Stacy, when you said that book came out 20 years ago, I wanted to protest, but it WAS before my son was born, so at least 15 years ago! ACK! I clearly remember sitting in bed rewriting the ending ;) And reading the last page, only to turn back to the first page and read it again!
