SLUG
Seems like ages since I've worked on my book, but it's actually only been 3 days. I've been wiped by 6:30, and Monday I had an appletini and that did NOT make me more energetic ;)
I have discovered something as I lay motionless on the couch. I don't want that to be my life. I need more. I don't have a HUGE amount of energy so getting to the computer is about the best I can do. I want to write. Even if I don't write a TON everyday, I need to have that, the story, the community, the hope in my life.
Blame Trish for this - she got me hooked on YouTube and I've been watching Grey's videos.

Oh, I know how you feel. Think there's only an hour or two a day I can write, and sometimes, if I'm lucky, I'll work a couple of hours a day.. but most of the time, between children, blogging, and work, I rarely have time until my family's asleep, then i'm usually too tired to do too much anyway.
Hugs Mary! The beginning of the school year is always tough. Do you take vitamins? I know that sounds strange, but it's helped me so much. If I'm really dragging I take extra B-12 and B-6, too.
You're an amazing writer!
GA's back on TV tonight. :-)
I know what you mean. It takes the threat of not being able to pay the mortgage and living in a cardboard box to get me to stop writing and go to the day job each morning. I wish I had more time to give to it. But at least that gives me a goal to work towards...
YouTube is addictive. But how about using it as a reward? If you get X amount of pages written, you can play on YouTube or on other online stuff.
You got it, Mar. I try to write at least some every day (my goal is usually 2000 words), except on weekends, because I treat writing like my job. But I also have my other jobs (substitute teaching and office bookkeeping), plus my home, my family, and my spirituality. All of them need the time and attention they deserve, too. Being balanced is my goal...and I do my best to get there. I will admit now that my latest contracted novel is finished, I'm looking forward to NOT having a deadline over my head for a while. I can work on Damien at my own pace. I'll like that.

Candice, but even if you don't write, you're still playing with the story, right? At least you're thinking at some point you'll be writing. Some people just lay on the couch....I can't settle for that. Too --- well, without hope, I guess, instead of hopeless. Not quite the same.
Mary Beth, you know, I was taking vitamins last year. I forgot about that. I will have to go get some this weekend!
Kelly, I have days like that....few and far between lately, though.
Trish,
2000 words a day, J? Sheesh, I didn't even do that over the summer!
Hugs, Mary! You can do it! You can get the writing done! As for YouTube, don't even get me started... Really...
Good luck!
Oops, didn't finish - Trish, I was saying it was your fault I put up the picture of Justin instead of George, not that it was your fault I'm a slug! That's all me, baby ;)
April, you don't want me to get you started? Really?? ;)
