Derailed
I got 15 pages on Monday.
Yesterday, I tried to write a working synopsis, realized I had no idea. I revised 20 pages, which I guess is something, but nothing compared to what I wanted to do.
I was derailed by negativity.
There are different types of negativity. Some is bad news you hear from friends that has you worrying about them. I've had that for my mom for a bit, and two of my friends. It weighed me down yesterday.
Some is worrying about things you can't change. One of my email loops exploded yesterday (my fault) and I was just sick by the time I read all the emails. I wanted to read them, wanted to know what was going on, but at the same time, it's out of my control. I mean, I avoid negative blogs. I should know better.
I also have a Gerry movie on DVD sitting there by the couch. I can't watch it because it's about a woman with terminal cancer.
I admit I waited to read Paula's book because it's about a missing child.
So I'm pretty blue, and only a little bit has to do with the fact that my baby is 15 today.

Mar, love the pic of Daddy and baby boy. :)
I'm sorry if my troubles are making YOU feel down, Mar...I sure don't want that. Hey, today is the fifteenth anniversary of your giving birth! I say that means it's time to be nice to Mar day. Do something lovely for the boy, and for Mom!
Hugs,
J
J, I'm just worried about you, is all. And feeling helpless. And a little guilty for complaining about my plumbing and my oven when you're dealing with so much more.
Sorry to you are worrying about people, but you know, that means you have people you love and that's a wonderful thing. Sounds like you need to give and get a big HUG! And happy birthday to the boy. Fifteen years is a milestone. Yeah.
My baby just turned fifteen. It does make you take a look around.
I avoid negative blogs myself-- mine is called the Write Snark to tie it into the store, but most of the time, it's pretty positive. Occasionally, I let loose some snark, but most of that is wrapped up in smart mouthed t-shirts. (g)
You do have a lovely blog here and I've wanted to say thanks for mentioning my writer designs. Let me know if you have any trouble with the shirts you ordered. :)
Aw, cute picture of J.
Sorry you're blue. That seems to be going around, dang it.
Hugs Mary. You sound so blue. Maybe you ought to give yourself permission to take a week or so off of writing and just enjoy.
Happy Birthday to Josh, too!
Thanks, Gina. I think a lot of it is just a traditional dread of July. Means summer is almost over. I'm so conditioned to HATING going back to work, how sad is that? Since I don't hate going back to work anymore, I just feel blue, I guess.
Rinda, I love my shirts!!!! I'll be wearing them in Atlanta, one on Wednesday and one on Sunday, and at my SARA meeting. I mean, how many places can you wear a shirt that says, "My hero can kick your hero's ass?"
Thanks, Stacy, Trish and Colleen. I didn't want to give myself ANOTHER week off writing, because summer is coming to a close. Today, however, I'm off because I've been shopping and cleaning like a fiend for the boy's birthday dinner - barbecue brisket! And I hunted down some diabetic ice cream for my aunt.
I've been in the blues too. Happy birthday to your 'baby!'
Hugs, Mary. Here's hoping your blues are quickly gone. It's easy to worry about everyone and everything. Hope you feel better soon...
The picture is too cute. Guess he's not nearly so tiny now! :-)
Dana, you've had a lot going on, with the requests and the computer crash! You're entitled!
Thanks, April! No, right now, that picture could be the other way around! He's taller than anyone in the family.
Hope today finds you feeling better! Just wait until your baby is 30!! LOL.
30!!!! WAHHHHHH!!!!
