Twitchy

I wish! But I did take off part of tomorrow. These last three weeks have been too stressful (we won't talk about the NEW paperwork they're now requiring us to do at school.)
Dinner last night was nice and thank goodness my cp drove because I hate driving downtown. I didn't drink because I didn't want to mess up my sleep (sleep=sacred) but I still didn't sleep well.
And I'm starting to get twitchy. I have several submissions out and I want to hear back so I can move forward (okay, what I'll do differently, I don't know. I just want to hear.)
Don't Look Back is at Silhouette Romantic Suspense. 13 months now, 2 since she said she was reading it. I'm scared to email her because when I pushed on Hot Shot I got an email rejection. But I can't send in Breaking Daylight until I hear from that one.
STTA is with Dorchester since June.
Surface is with Sourcebooks since September (I know...so long! Just feels like it, I guess)
My short story has been with TWRP since the beginning of October. It was recommended to the senior editor that she buy it. Again, soooo long ;)
And 2 contests I entered are announcing their results in a few weeks.
Are you patient when it comes to submissions?
Woot, Supernatural tonight!

I found out yesterday I can enter the Rita!!! I thought I couldn't because my copyright is 2007 though the book is released in 2008, but I checked and I can! Talk about expensive, though....the entry fee, plus 5 books (at $7 a pop to me, with shipping) and shipping. But worth it if I final, right? Do you think a small press has a chance?
I also found out my next batch of books is on its way, the ones for the booksigning in October.
And Surface is being read by an editor.
And my last Javier movie was ready at the library. It was his first English speaking role. Now I've seen all his English movies and one of his Spanish ones.
But I didn't write a word yesterday.
We watched Leatherheads last night. Way better than I expected. The first football scene had me laughing so hard I snorted. John Krasinski's character wasn't so great, though. The romance was very like old Cary Grant movies, which is who Clooney reminded me of, especially with the physical comedy and the mugging for the camera.

What's Out There
I watched BOUNCE this weekend, a straight romance with Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Affleck. I loved it when I first saw it and loved it again this weekend. He’s less than heroic, true, but he falls so hard for her. And she’s just a terrific heroine. Have you seen it? Did you like it?
I’m almost caught up on my revisions on my self-imposed calendar. I told Trish I’m afraid of Spy Girl. It was such a blast to write – do I want to ruin that experience by trying to make it publishable, or do I want to leave it as a story for me?
I got my electric bill this weekend – not as bad as I thought. I was afraid it might be near $400, the AC ran so much, but it was less than $300. This month should be even less.
Here’s what I have submitted:
Queries:
Susan Litman for Don’t Look Back (2 months – have mercy, Susan!)
Jenny Rappaport for Surface
Kelly Harms for DLB - NEVER MIND, REJECTED TUESDAY WITH A LITTLE SLIP OF PAPER - OUCH
Partials:
Pamela Ahearn for Surface
Paige Wheeler for DLB
Kerry Donovan for DLB through From the Heart
Fulls:
Wild Rose Press for Where There’s Smoke
Kate Duffy with Kensington
Cori Deyoe with Surface
Outstanding contest entries:
Ghost of a Doubt – Indiana Golden Opportunity
Gateway to the Best
Contest Junkies
Hot Shot – Contest Junkies
Cleveland Rocks
Gather
Queen of the Night – Gateway to the Best
Contests I’m readying to enter:
Golden Palms – everything ST I have, I think, except Surface, since I plan to rework it, so Hot Shot, BD and DLB
The Emily – both paranormals, Hot Shot, BD
The Suzannah – no idea – may be low on cash at that point ;)
Linda Howard – BD and Hot Shot
Superromance – no idea – Hot Shot and Surface have been R’d, I want Susan to have DLB and BD – any thoughts?
Okay, off to my first day of school! Wish me luck!
