Natalie convinced me to come back to Netflix since I was having so much trouble getting new releases from Blockbuster, and they changed the exchange-a-mailed-movie-for-a-movie-in-the-store policy. So I came back, and had the same trouble getting new releases.

But.

We got a new Tivo, which streams a lot (a LOT) of Netflix movies. A. LOT. Recently I learned they stream The Dresden Files and all the Buffy and Angel series (though I own those.) They stream all seasons of Grey’s Anatomy and The Office. They stream the new cable series Spartacus, and the old Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew (not the whole season, though.) Also The Night Stalker, remember that series? Also Lost, Torchwood, The Tudors, Harper’s Island and Heroes.

Then there are the movies. Two Sam Worthington Australian movies, a lot of the Mystery Science Theater movies, classics like Jason and the Argonauts, Cleopatra, Butterflies are Free, the original Clash of the Titans. Penelope is on there, a few of the Rocky movies, the second Terminator. Singles, The Breakfast Club, The Last of the Mohicans, only a click away. Somewhere in Time, Princess Bride, Footloose. Newer movies, too, like The Taking of Pelham 123, The Ugly Truth, Angels and Demons and The Proposal (which I’ve now seen a BUNCH.) Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is there, and I realized I hadn’t seen the last episode. Caddyshack, Vacation and for awhile, Animal House was on.

It’s so nice, we’ve cut back to one DVD at a time, and when we’re in the mood, we just click onto Netflix. It stops the movie when you stop it and you can pick it up again later. I know Trish is using her netbook to stream them, which I could do, but I prefer it on the TV.

Anyone else use Netflix streaming? And no, no one is paying me for this!

I have a sad. I don’t think I like Supernatural anymore. It’s too dark, too sad, too hard to watch. I loved Season 4 like mad, but this season…there’s not one episode I’ve watched a second time.

Grey’s Anatomy’s first hour was awesome. I started crying less than a minute in. Was still crying when it ended. The second hour was on par with last season, above average, but not as engaging.

Dollhouse was better than last year. I liked Echo and Ballard working together. I liked Amy Acker’s larger role. Still not awesome, though.

Glee is getting really good. I loved Kurt’s story this week. Loved his dad. Why did I think he was wealthy, though?

Castle is terrific. So is FlashForward. I’m absolutely hooked.

Big Bang Theory was just okay. I thought the three did a terrible thing to Sheldon, and their unwillingness to apologize bothered me.

Heroes was….hm. I love the actor who plays the artist. LOVE him. But…what the hell kind of power is that? Goofy, if you ask me. And he has to use the same woman as his canvas? How do you discover that power? I dunno.

The Good Wife was good, but it’s going to turn out to be case-of-the-week, I’m sure.

Eastwick was okay. Forgettable. I liked the setting, but, well, I've seen the movie.

Cougar Town was funny. Loved it, especially because Courtney Cox is older than me.

I’ve not seen Vampire Diaries, The Mentalist or Fringe yet. DH liked the season opener of Fringe, but I still haven’t connected with the cast of either show.

Yes, I watch a lot of TV. What have you seen? How did you like it?

Hopefully I can work on the bodyguard book today. I need to catch up on edits. I'm trying for 20 pages a day, but it's hard. And I checked out the new Gabaldon from the library, 810 pages. I couldn't even finish Club Dead, and it was only 250 pages!

I studied the new Entertainment Weekly looking at new shows and returning shows. Last year I think the only new show I tried in the fall was FRINGE. This year I'm branching out a bit.

I hadn't thought I wanted to see "V" but Morena, who played Inara in FIREFLY, is in it and I love her. Not on till November, though.The dh wants to give Flash Forward a try.








I've always liked Chris Noth and Juliana Marguiles, so I'm going to try The Good Wife.I've already watched a couple of episodes of Glee and while I'm not HOOKED, I'm enjoying it.

I enjoyed the movie Witches of Eastwick, so will give the series a try.
Cougartown looks hilarious.

A few years ago, I spoiled an episode of Angel for a friend who lived in Las Vegas. As soon as the episode ended, I ran to the computer and wrote something like, "Poor Wesley!" Well, Las Vegas is an hour behind and she hadn't seen the episode yet. BOY, was she mad, and I completely understand. I've been very careful ever since.

However, I've been learning a painful lesson about spoilers the past couple of weeks. If you don't watch shows live, DON'T go on Twitter or Facebook. I was spoiled on Heroes when Nathan died and on the LOST episode when Daniel died while I was innocently cruising through Twitter updates. I didn't see LOST Wednesday night, and Trish kindly reminded me NOT to go on Twitter, where people were discussing it. I've also seen the results from American Idol spoiled for those who watch it. Eek! Last night I was watching Grey's, delayed, because I watched SPN at 9, and recorded the second hour of Grey's (but knew I couldn't go to school today without seeing the end.) A friend commented on my Facebook (while I still had half an hour in the show) about the ending. It turned out to be minor, but the rest of the show, I was like, "Dang!"

So my lesson SHOULD be to stay off the internet until the Tivo is clean, huh? Not much more to see, though, just 24, NCIS and The Mentalist, I think.

I'm up early early early to meet my goal because TONIGHT IS SEASON FINALE NIGHT!

Now, I haven't seen LOST because the gf was here and dh and ds didn't start watching until 9:30, which is already past my bedtime :) And tonight I might not see SPN because Grey's finale is 2 hours. UNLESS I take a nap when I get home, which I may do if I meet my goal before school. See?

Are you excited about any season finales? Did you see FRINGE? I watched that one last night and--whoa. Was stunned. Also, NCIS looks like the finale will be good, if this last episode was a hint. Of course, loved CASTLE.

Okay, off to revise!

I haven’t talked TV in WAY too long but I've been watching. A lot.

I am LOVING CASTLE. I love the sharp dialogue and writing. I love Nathan and the actress. I love the daughter, and her relationship to her dad. I love Castle’s screensaver- “You Should Be Writing.” I love how smart the characters are. Highly recommend.



I loved last week’s GREY’S ANATOMY, especially Derek’s storyline. I loved when Bailey sent Callie and the major to convince Derek to come back and they all ended up commiserating.



I loved last week’s Friday Night Lights, when Coach found Julie in bed with Matt. I cried right along with Tami as she and Julie had their conversation. I loved how Riggins stood between Lila and her dad when she moved out in a fit. I HOPE Buddy doesn’t kill himself, because that’s what it looked like he was getting ready to do.



I loved last week’s Supernatural. So many secrets revealed, so much damage done. Castiel won me over for sure.



I’ve watched Battlestar Galactica twice now, and while I loved the battle scenes and the wrap-up, but I had a ton of questions left when it was done. Not particularly satisfying when you have to go to the internet looking for answers.



I’m not sure what to make of Lost, Kings, Dollhouse (what a turnaround this last episode, though) or Heroes. 24 is pretty high-adrenaline.

Then there was the Nora movie last week. I loved it until the last 5 minutes. The bad guy was a dummy.

Did anyone see 24 last night? I always thought Tony was hot, but with the short hair....guh! Also, the FRI agent Renee would be excellent in Nora's High Noon. She was also the mom on the Supernatural episode "Playthings." This season looks gooooood, but has the same kind of plot as Spy Girl, aka the book I will never have time to work on :)

I got up to page 126, almost a third of the way through. I've also cut 20 pages so far. I need to rework the climax, so the closer I get to the end, the slower I'll be working.

I've read through the first 100 pages of Surface and I absolutely agree with the editor's comment about the circular development of the relationship. Yeesh, I beat the reader over the head with it.

I read my Google Reader while on the exercise bike. I rode 18 minutes, but didn't make 5 miles. I guess I can't pedal as fast as I read. But I did multi-task.

TV last night-JDM on Kimmel (only watched the interview), The Office and Grey's Anatomy. JDM is really gorgeous. And I love Sloan and Callie's friendship.

Yesterday was interminable....the kids were taking a writing test. All but 7 were done before lunch. 2 were still working ten minutes before school let out. The rest of the kids were pretty good, so I gave them the night off, no homework. They thought I was awesome. Yeesh, I should do that more often :)

I got a revision letter on Surface yesterday. BIG revision letter. Gulp. Will be busy. But we'll be having Gerry pictures again for a bit :)

Watched an episode of The Office, NCIS and Leverage. JDM was on Jimmy Kimmel and Jensen will be on tonight. Thank goodness for Tivo.

Testing for the kids today. Makes a long day, but at least quiet, and I can think about the revisions.

I've been riding the exercise bike 5 miles a day for a week and it just knocks me flat. When will it stop????



I know I said I wouldn't watch as much TV, but my Tivo was lonely so I started watching Leverage on TNT. What a GREAT show. To be honest, I started watching because Christian Kane (Lindsey from Angel) was on, but so is Jake from Supernatural and he's a hoot. It's apparently about criminals with a Robin Hood philosophy. The one I saw, they were pulling a con on a corrupt judge to help one of the people who suffered at the judge's hand. Anyway, good writing, quick thinking characters, and a love interest with Timothy Hutton and one of the other crooks.

I watched Diary of a Mad Black Woman. It looks like a comedy, and Cindi thought it was hilarious. Well, it's not. It's pretty sad, actually. Have you seen it? What did you think of the ending? The dh and I were both, "Huh?"

My Tivo isn't matched up with my cable system. Turner Classic Movies and Oxygen are both unavailable on the Tivo, and I like those channels. But yesterday I only watched Little Miss Sunshine.

The first scene of a new story woke me at 4 AM. I've only been writing my historical for three weeks! How can I be seduced away so easily?

So yes, I'm writing that first scene while it's fresh.

I can't decide if I like Fringe or not. I do like Joshua Jackson, who I saw was one of People's Sexiest Men Alive.

I do like The Mentalist. A lot.

I saw Grey's, and as much as I love JDM coming to my TV every week, Denny and Izzie are having the same conversation over and over. I have to say, the last scene broke my heart. I would have made a different choice, and not just because it was Denny. If the love of my life returned, I would want to spend every moment I could with him. (Okay, I'm married to that guy, but if anything happened....)

I think that's the problem I'm having with my Nano book, come to think of it.

Today should be a productive day for me. The first day of vacation usually is. Already I've edited 50 pages of my short story, entered the NRCA, changed the litter, done a load of laundry and paid the bills.

Man, will there be a lot of red on the graph today. I think I wrote 300 words. I can't look. I wanted to take an early out, come home, sleep, then get up and write. I can't take the early out, but I think I'll still nap, then get up and write. Hey, after 3 late nights, I deserve to leave as soon as the last kid is gone. I don't get much work done after that anyway.

Tutoring went well, though. I like working with small groups. I get to know the kids better, and that's always good. We went over word problems and operations and played a game. They loved it.

So, watched The Office (loved the end), then the back half of Grey's. JDM looked GOOD all looming and stuff. Then watched my Tivoed Supernatural. Interesting, again not a favorite, and the Tivo kept freezing. PLEASE let it be the CW messing up an NOT the Tivo! (Speaking of technology the dh did call about my laptop but the guy hasn't called him back! GAH!)

Okay, half an hour to write before I get dressed. I'm off to work!

URGH, I don't want to go to school, but at least I did my Men in Black dance (thank you, You Tube!) and I met my writing goals this weekend. I need to grade like an insane person today - progress reports go out next week again.

Grey’s Anatomy was GREAT this week – wonderful humor, excellent timing. I loved George this week, especially how he was with the little boy, who was ADORABLE and a pretty good little actor. The whole dermatology bit was a hoot, and Bailey trying to give Callie advise about her relationship with Hahn….priceless. Bailey is my favorite. Season 5 is rocking.

Crusoe was terrific, too. Fast-paced and adventurous, with pirates and, who knew, Sean Bean in excellent casting. I like the interspersed backstory. I hope it makes it in the Friday night slot, but wonder how they’ll structure it. There can’t be pirates and soldiers every week.

Back in the old days when I was on AOL, there was often discussion on different boards about who would make a good Jamie Fraser, should OUTLANDER ever be made into a movie. The hero of Crusoe would definitely make a good Jamie. Of course, I can’t find any pictures.

I already talked about Supernatural, LOVED it.

Heroes is pretty fascinating, though I don't like Claire or her real mom at all. I'm over Parkman, too. I'm really digging the evolution of Sylar.

I caught up on Fringe, which I can still take or leave.

The Office is only okay.

I keep Tivoing Life on Mars but it gets bumped before I can watch it. Blast my 40 hour limit!

Valentine is cute, though the main reason I watch is the romance novelist character.

I like The Unit but don't understand why Kim can't keep her own baby.

Army Wives makes me cry every time. The season is long this year, though, I guess a full season.

With all the stuff happening on Wall Street and stuff going on in my family and work I'm going to have to act like a grown-up instead of hiding in my house and playing in my stories and watching movies and TV.

Speaking of, looks like Supernatural will be on at its regular time, but no Grey's Anatomy and no Office.

I'm one paragraph behind my daily goal, and I woke up late. 2 more days until I can sleep all I want.

Yes, we have Tivo but last night I made brownies and we piled on the couch to watch Heroes. It was great! Then The Mentalist and NCIS and The Unit this week, Grey's Anatomy (which causes a conundrum - JDM is supposed to be on, so of course I will Tivo which means I will watch SPN and miss The Office. Curse you, Thursday night!)

Anyone know when Crusoe is starting?

Also, I need help. Last year I wrote the play for Halloween at school and used Scooby Doo. This year I thought I'd make it easier on myself and have less acting and more dancing. I thought I'd get 5-6 different groups and have them dress up like a scary show/movie. I thought one group could be The Addams Family, another The Munsters, maybe Charlie Brown....but I can't think of anything else. I work in a poor school, so the costumes can't be too elaborate, and they need to be easily recognizable. Any thoughts?

And yes, I know his story is done for now but I just can't help myself....

I haven’t blogged since school started and today I got up early and my internet was down!!! GAH. School is good, though, and I’m working hard to not slack off in the other areas – writing and keeping the house up. It’s been raining, though, so I haven’t been able to wear my very cute shoes!!! We've been going out to lunch every day and yesterday my mom was at the same restaurant and she bought me lunch ;)

I’m so tired. Last night was SARA. I got home at 9:30 and was in bed by 10. The meeting was great. My friend Sarah’s husband was the guest speaker, a 15 year police veteran, and he was very engaging. I got at least 3 new ideas ;)

I’m revising Surface, hoping that the ending will come to me…..nothing I come up with feels right.

I watched the last disc of Robin Hood yesterday. I would rate the season as this:

Disc One: Meh
Disc Two: Okay, looking forward to more.
Disc Three: WHERE IS THE LAST DISC? DOES ANY STORE IN SAN ANTONIO HAVE IT? I NEED IT NOW!!!
Disc Four: I cannot believe they did that. I CANNOT believe it. Must speak to someone who has seen it…..which is no one. Also, will watch Season 3 but not with hope.

My new old favorite show is Sex and the City. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that a man writes it because the friendships, the absolute loyalty these women have for each other. The break-ups and the relationships and the sickness and the celebrations. It’s idealistic, of course, but something women should strive for in their friendships.

One of my SARA friends is going through a rough time. Lupe, who posts here now and again, recently discovered her son Michael needs a bone marrow transplant. He was diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago and went into remission twice, but has had 2 relapses. Thank God, a match has been found, and the surgery is scheduled for September. Please, if you could, say a prayer that everything goes well!

I got the first disc of Robin Hood Season 2 yesterday and I was So Disappointed.

SO disappointed.

Now, it’s been a year since I saw the first season but I don’t remember the villains being so bumbling. I don’t remember Sir Guy (hubba hubba) being such a lackey. And while I understand that he’s upset with how Season 1 ended, there is NO spark between him and Marian anymore.

I loved the spark. I MISS the spark.



In fact, the only character I still like is Marian. I’m very disappointed.

I’ll give the second disc a chance because, you know, Richard Armitage, but if it doesn’t get me….bye bye.

A show that is just getting better is Psych. The daredevil episode was just brilliant – I had to rewind several times because I was laughing so hard I missed other good lines. And I love that Cybill Shepard is playing Sean’s mom. James Roday and Dule Hill are awesome.

I also saw Nim’s Island. I love that Jodi Foster’s character is stuck like I am on her book. Also, she and Gerry’s characters both use Macs. Oh, and Gerry wears a wetsuit. A fairly cute movie, though it ended where I thought it was getting interesting ;)

I found this website about Breaking Dawn. I only read Twilight, but this review (3 PAGES!!! but so funny) didn't make Breaking Dawn sound so bad. Breaking Dawn

I did the interview and wrote most of the synopsis for Surface and printed out the contest entries and got my line edits for the SPN essay and went to the library and Blockbuster. I got in the car to go on my errands and realized I haven't driven in at least a week! MAYbe last Thursday. I don't remember.

I have a plan for Surface. I can’t believe it’s already Thursday, though!
