Motivation
As you can see by the page count meter in the sidebar, I've been having trouble getting motivated. Hot Shot is finally going out, and I know my agent wants changes on Don't Look Back. I have Surface sitting on my hard drive waiting for her to look at. So I'm not feeling much urgency to work on Vanished, or anything else. I know I'm going to regret my laziness down the road, but I can't get going.
Maybe it's the book, maybe I should try working on something else. I did pick up the latest Newsweek about the bad boy skier, with my Midnight Sun hero in mind. I watched Dante's Peak and Magma with a niggling of a new idea. Maybe I should move forward instead. But I know when those revisions come, I'll be yanked out of the new story and I hate that.
So anyway, today I'm going to clean a bit, then park my butt in the chair with the printed Vanished, with a notebook and a pen, and see where inspiration takes me.

I had motivation problems up until today. I haven't looked at my GH entries. I've procrastinated plotting my next book. I have found every excuse one could think of not to write. But something jump started me today and I've been busy. FINALLY! BTW, why are you cheating on Gerard? Shame on you!

Mary Beth and Olga, you may be right. I just needed time off. I sure have read a lot!
Tanya, you think it's because we're waiting to hear that we can't get motivated? I got a jerk back into writing today, too. I had the most amazing dream....only the hero is....Colin Firth. I like him, but....not all that sexy, you know?
As for Gerry, when he starts getting his picture taken again, I'll start posting them again. I kind of draw the line at posting Dracula pictures, just because.

Thanks, Janice! I actually am motivated, but I'm a bit ADHD right now - I want to work on Vanished, but I've plotted Midnight Sun and THEN I had this dream that might be a good story...I'm playing with it now.
Mar, I'm back in the saddle with my ms, but it is also slow going...my being ill is really pulling me down. I have an appt. with the doc AT LAST tomorrow morning. It took me this long to get an appt with him! LOTS of illness around right now. Hopefully once I get better, I can start moving. But it's hard. I won't kid ya. Hang in, Mar.
