What Skills Do You Wish You Had?

I wish I could cook, or enjoyed it enough to learn. I have a few recipes that I rotate, but I wish I enjoyed the process enough so I could cook like Candace. Her tweets about what she’s having for dinner are mouth-watering.

I enjoy gardening, but I don’t give enough time to it. My friend Dawn has a gorgeous yard, but she devotes hours to creating it.

My beloved Land Cruiser is sitting in the driveway needing an engine overhaul. I wish I knew how to restore her. Then I’d get that Impala….

I wish I could create my own website from html.

I wish I could plot a series.

What do you wish you could do?

LOL... I can cook, I just don't like to -- mostly because my DH doesn't like anything in the least bit "different". I garden religiously, though. And, erhm... I can build websites. I'll leave the car restoration stuff to DH, who is a pro at it.

My biggest need and desire is for MORE TIME. So I wish I could create one of those watch-thingies that Hermione had in Harry Potter so I could be in two places at once.

I do wish I could cut hair well. I often consider going to cosmetology school to learn.

I wish I could sew/knit/crochet. My grandmother could do beautiful work and I wish I'd been able to learn from her.

I would love to be able to fix cars as that would save a ton of money on repair bills.

And finally, I wish I could find a way to train my cat not to eat cardboard.

I wish I could talk in front of large groups without being nervous. AND I wish I could cook more than the handful of meals I know.

Marianne, you're one who makes me want to garden. I know I did better last year, then lost everything to either the drought or the freeze. And YES on more time!

Michele, my grandmother taught me to crochet and Mom taught me to sew when I was fourteen. She said she didn't have time to sew for both of us, so gave me her old machine and showed me what to do. By senior year, I was making most of my clothes. Eating cardboard, eh? Weird.

Mary Beth, isn't it funny? We're teachers and still don't like public speaking. People point it out to me all the time, but it's different! And yes, I just rotate a handful of meals. Maybe this summer I'll branch out. My current heroine is a chef. Maybe she'll inspire me.

I'm a decent cook, but also uninspired, so yes, I'd like to be better. I would like to understand cars beyond the very basics, and other mechanical and carpentry stuff. And sewing. I can't do more than close a hole, and never very attractively.

Uninspired--that's it exactly. My friend Susan learned how to rebuild an engine from her dad. I think that's so cool.

That is very cool! My dad could have taught me that, but he wasn't around, so *pout*.
