New Shows
So, Standoff starts tonight after House. Pretty much all I know is that it's about hostage negotiators, two of whom are in a relationship, and one of them is the guy who broke up with Carrie using a post-it note. Actually, that's all I need to know to watch it. (I'd started a hostage negotiator story a couple of years ago that actually finalled in the Golden Gateway. I wanted to show the characters building sexual tension before they even laid eyes on each other.)
The other new show I'll probably watch is The Nine, another hostage story airing right after Lost. This time the main characters are the hostages, though from what I understand, the bulk of the story is what happens to them after.
I MIGHT try Men in Trees, Anne Heche in Alaska, because I used to love Northern Exposure.
So, my TV schedule is a little heavier than I'd like, especially with my new writing schedule.
Monday - Prison Break
Tuesday - Dead Like Me and Standoff
Wednesday - Bones, Lost, The Nine
Thursday - Grey's Anatomy
Friday - Men in Trees.

I think I'm forgetting a few but I'm trying to keep my tv time to a minimum.
I almost always find something to watch. I'm enjoying Vanished. I'll watch Stand-Off tonight. Men in Trees looks like it might be funny. I'll check it out. I'm still annoyed by the demise of Invasion, though.
I'm looking forward to Studio 60, that new show with Matthew Perry that's been being talked about since last year. The premise and screenplay went to auction between the television studios, and they're looking for it to do very well.
Other than that, I don't watch much TV. I do DVDs or movies.
I think the only new shows I'm going to check out are Ugly Betty and Heroes. I'm going to have to make sure none of the showtimes conflict on my schedule:

Thursday -- Survivor, Ugly Betty and Grey's
Friday -- Stargate Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica

Ugly Betty! Mary, you totally have to watch Ugly Betty. I'm looking forward to Matthew Perry's new show, too. Studio 60, or something like that? And I love Bones, so I'm glad to see it back.
I got the Entertainment Weekly yesterday, with all the new shows. More look good than I want to try.
Ugly Betty? Seriously? You know, if they didn't have her run into the plate glass - I HATE clumsy heroines.
The Tina Fey show looks good, too.

My FAB news for this season??? I'm getting CABLE, with a DVR!! Now, I can shamelessly record all my reality shows, any new shows I want, and never be lacking for something to watch...when the kids aren't watching cartoons, and when I'm not working overtime, or writing...

Most anticipated new show - HEROES. I've SO had a story idea involving superheroes and this show looks good.
We've also got season 2 of LOST on DVD now, and we can TiVo season 3!! :)
My son is getting into House. He made us go buy Lost when it came out on DVD on Tuesday ($35.99 at Best Buy! Got Veronica Mars for $19.99!) I've given up House to write.
Elizabeth, that doesn't look TOO bad.
Sarah, a DVR!!! I told the dh I want one of those, too. But between that and Blockbuster.com (got the last two Prison Break discs today) I'd never write!
